The company, founded by the Pietra brothers, Eugenio and Carlo, left an indelible mark on the history of racing bicycles and beyond. Champions from different eras won using Universal brakes: from Girardengo and Binda to Coppi and Bartali, and later Gimondi and Merckx, Vigna, Moser, and Adorni all relied on them with confidence. But Universal brakes also equipped a wide range of touring bicycles, for riders of all ages.
